Each year, my daughter and I celebrate Halloween. Halloween is a very important festival here in Scotland. Similar to the American Trick or Treating, we have 'guising' - children dress up in an outfit and go door to door in their neighbourhood - but here, the children have to earn their sweeties by telling a joke or doing some sort of performance. Most years, I either sew an outfit, or we update an existing outfit. One of my favourite designs which I created is my Cobweb Cat - and I made it into the fantastic Cobweb Cat Halloween Fabric in orange. You can see more photos of the fabric on my website here.
The image above shows the original linocut of the Cobweb Cat - and demonstrates how much detail gets captured on the fabric. I sell my fabric on my shop on Spoonflower - and I often sew my designs in their satin fabric option. Colours in their satin are incredibly vibrant. I have sewn lots of costumes from my Halloween fabric collection - take a look!
My daughter loves the dress I made for her in this fabric - and I love it too! Making something for Halloween is one of my favourite seasonal activities - it is signal that it is time to cosy up for winter and get your sewing projects lined up...
