Swimming Otter Linocut
This is a hand made print of a linocut of an otter swimming and forms part of my wildlife print collection. It would make a wonderful gift for a wildlife lover.
Otters can be seen in rivers throughout Perthshire. Although we live in the middle of the city of Perth, you often see otters swimming and hunting fish from the bridge crossing the Tay. The printed area is 14cm x 19cm and the paper is 15cm x 20cm. It is printed in black oil based ink onto beautifully smooth white Japanese Simili paper. The dark and light markings of the otter are suited to the medium of linocutting.
All of my linocut prints turn out slightly differently – depending on where the linocut is placed on the paper, how much ink is rolled on, and how much pressure is used to transfer the ink from the linocut onto the paper. It is an open edition print.
